Latin America is a continent of new markets and opportunities for investment, with unexplored resources and great natural and cultural diversity. For those who want to explore new horizons, our Functional Spanish for Foreigners Program provides you with an introduction to a language that will offer you a new perspective of Colombian and Latin American Culture.
The EFE program has Colombian culture as its focal point, and the course has a number of excursions to places of special interest for visitors, as well as offering an introduction to Colombian folklore and customs.
Colombia
Colombia is a country of dramatic contrasts where the unexpected will be a part of your daily life. Located at the north-western tip of South America, Colombia boasts spectacular beaches on both Pacific and the Atlantic coasts. This exciting country, which harbors the biggest biodiversity in the world, has a land mass of 440,505 square miles, extending from the dark sands of the Pacific to the sparkling white sands of the Caribbean, to the magnificent Andean snowcaps, the eastern plains and the tropical rain forests which were once home to a myriad of pre-Hispanic cultures.
Cali
Cali, home to the Javeriana University, is a temperate and breezy city with warm, hospitable people. Come prepared for the best of spring and summer, to enjoy an amazing variety of tropical fruit, the mildest coffee in the world, study and learn in a tropical setting, have fun and make lifelong friends.
The Javeriana
In 1623, the Jesuit community founded the Javeriana University in Bogotá, and then in 1970 the Cali campus opened its doors. Since their foundation, these have grown to become universities of international status. The Universidad Javeriana Cali campus is located in the south of the city, at the foot of the imposing Farallones, which form part of the Andean mountain range.
This beautiful campus is in direct contact with nature, with a large variety of birds and other animals are very much part of the university landscape. A rushing mountain stream adds to this exotic panorama as it wends its way through campus buildings and grounds. The variety of tropical plants, trees and gardens delight students and visitors with ever changing scenes. The world at the Javeriana is physically beautiful, intellectually challenging and stimulating in a tranquil setting.
You will study with men and women who live and work in a challenging environment with mutual trust and respect. This is a university where nature, architecture and humans seek harmony as its students prepare to make a positive impact in the 'real world'.
